Ben Nye is CEO of VMTurbo. Ben has been a leader in the enterprise software space for more than 20 years. Prior to VMTurbo, Ben was senior vice president at VERITAS Software following its acquisition of Precise Software where he served as COO and CFO. During his tenure, Ben helped build Precise from a $10M privately-held company to a $100M public company – which subsequently became the fastest growing public company in its space. Ben also is co-managing partner at Bain Capital Ventures.
Earlier this year Ben was named to Forbes’ annual “Midas List” of top VC investors, making the list for the third time. Ben also currently serves on the board of several companies including Solarwinds, Rapid7, SevOne, and AppNeta. Previously, Ben was a principal at Allied Capital. He also served as a political appointee member of the Senior Executive Service and direct report to US Treasury Secretaries Robert Rubin and Lloyd Bentsen. A Harvard Scholar, Ben graduated with honors from Harvard College and Harvard Business School.
Founder and President
Shmuel is founder and president of VMTurbo and a recent Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist. He directs the technology teams encompassing development, product strategy and management, customer success and customer support. Prior to founding VMTurbo, Shmuel served as Vice President of Architecture and Applied Research in the EMC CTO Office. Prior to joining the CTO Office, Shmuel was the Chief Technology Officer of EMC’s Resource Management Software Group. Shmuel Kliger joined EMC with the acquisition of SMARTS. Shmuel Kliger was a Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of SMARTS.
As CTO of SMARTS Shmuel Kliger was responsible for setting SMARTS vision and strategy, managing SMARTS R&D organization, as well as Professional Services, Technical Support and Technology Partner Development. Prior to joining SMARTS, Shmuel was a member of the Distributed Systems Software Technology department at IBM Research developing middleware technologies. Shmuel also served as a senior researcher at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel, and Manager of Technical Support Services for International Business Software in Israel. Shmuel holds a B.S. in mathematics from Bar Ilan University, an M.Sc.and a Ph.D. in computer science from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel.
Mo brings over 15 years of financial management and business strategy experience to VMTurbo where as CFO he is responsible for finance and operations. Previously, Mo was CFO of dynaTrace, an application performance management software company acquired by Compuware for $265 million in July 2011, where he was the first U.S. employee and helped grow the business from less than a million dollars in revenue to a run rate of $32 million in four years. Mo also held executive roles at Bain Capital Ventures and VERITAS Software, which he joined after the acquisition of Precise Software.
At Precise, Mo served as VP of strategic planning/M&A and VP of finance. He was part of the management team involved in the IPO of the company in June 2000 and its acquisition by VERITAS for over $650 million in June 2003.
Geeta is the Chief Marketing Officer for VMTurbo. Geeta is applying her more than twenty years of global marketing experience to help VMTurbo continue to drive brand awareness and demand generation in the IT management market. Prior to VMTurbo, Geeta was CMO of SolarWinds, a leading provider of powerful and affordable IT management software, where she helped fuel SolarWinds high-velocity sales model that drove its hyper-growth trajectory. Before SolarWinds, Geeta was a senior marketing executive at Dell, most recently serving as Executive Director of Consumer Marketing, where she was responsible for merchandising, online demand generation, and marketing communications. Geeta also served as Executive Director of Online Operations for Dell.com, where she led content operations and online analytics for Dell.com segments worldwide.
Prior to joining Dell, Geeta worked in Booz, Allen & Hamilton’s Financial Services Group. Geeta holds degrees from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
VP of Product Strategy, Co-Founder
Prior to joining VMTurbo, Yuri managed the Advanced Solution group in the EMC CTO Office and worked very closely with EMC’s Architecture and Applied Research teams in prototyping and innovating across a broad range of technology stacks and solutions. He joined EMC with the acquisition of SMARTS. Yuri had a long and diverse career with SMARTS: he was a member of the founding team, managed engineering and product development, and was responsible for technology partnership development, managing relationships with strategic accounts.
Yuri worked in several other high-tech startups managing engineering and products in storage and system management, IP telephony and collaboration. Earlier in his career, Yuri managed a research lab at the Russian Academy of Sciences Informatics Institute, carrying out applied research in operating systems, resource management, and user interfaces. Yuri holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and M.S. in computer science from Moscow Technical University of Electronic Engineering and a Ph.D. in computer science from Russian Academy of Sciences Informatics Institute.
Chief Revenue Officer
Eric leads VMTurbo’s global sales and partner organization to drive a new phase of growth, customer adoption and success. Eric loves building strong teams and leveraging innovative operational models to drive successful customer and partner relationships.
Most recently, he was SVP Sales at Dynatrace where he lead the company from $3 million to over $300 million in revenue. Prior to that, Eric was VP Sales at multiple start up organizations including Akorri , OATSystems, eRoom Technology and Powersoft. He lived and worked in Europe for 11 years before moving back to Boston Massachusetts. He has a Vor-Diplom in Industrial Engineering from Karlsruhe University in Germany.
VP of Worldwide Sales
Chris brings his extensive experience developing and motivating high-performing sales teams at rapidly growing software companies to his role leading VMTurbo’s global sales efforts. An accomplished sales leader with twenty years of technology industry experience both domestically and internationally, Chris joins with a proven track record of taking companies from $10 million to $100 million-plus in revenue. Before VMTurbo, Chris served as SVP of Sales and Business Development at Veracode, where he drove bookings growth by more than 500 percent.
Prior, at Endeca (acquired by Oracle), he helped guide the company from its first customer to over $100 million in annual revenue. Earlier in his career, he served as a divisional vice president at PTC, opening and operating businesses across North America, Europe, APAC and Japan. Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Saint Bonaventure University.
VP of Global Service Providers and Managing Director of Northern Europe
Andrew leads the company’s global focus on the Service Provider market, as well as heading up the sales and operations for Northern Europe. Andrew has spent the last 15 years working to improve the productivity of IT operations. This included leadership roles at Logical Networks (acquired by Datatec), where he ran the Network and Systems Management group; SMARTS (acquired by EMC), who pioneered automated root cause analysis; and Opalis (acquired by Microsoft), the market leader in IT process automation. Andrew is employee number seven at VMTurbo and has worked closely with the engineering team and pilot customers to get the product to market and on early customer acquisitions in the US, Europe & Asia.
VP of Worldwide Velocity Sales
Jim brings more than 20 years of experience in building and leading highly motivated sales teams. He continues to rapidly expand and strengthen VMTurbo’s velocity sales execution across the globe as VP of Worldwide Velocity Sales. Since joining VMTurbo in early 2011, Jim has led the design and implementation of the company’s dynamic sales culture inclusive of nearly 100 employees primarily focused on the Americas and European markets. Prior to VMTurbo, Jim served as Director of EMC’s Inside Sales and SMB business units, where he helped shape and manage recruiting, training and development, sales performance and overall GTM strategy of more than 200 sales professionals delivering $300 million in annual revenues while advancing the company into new markets.
Jim earned an MBA in Strategic Management from the Boston College Wallace E. Carroll Graduate School of Management and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Hampshire.
VP of Enterprise Sales
Dave brings more than 20 years of technology sales expertise to his role as VP of Enterprise Sales at VMTurbo. With proven success as both an individual contributor and managing sales teams at scale, Dave is leading VMTurbo’s enterprise sales team to successfully attack new markets, expand internationally and drive revenue growth. Over the course of his career, Dave has been a recipient of numerous awards for sales achievement, including top field representative worldwide as well as earning the President’s Club across multiple companies.
Prior to joining VMTurbo, Dave served as VP of Sales for the Eastern US and Canada at Compuware, where he successfully managed a $55 million business. He was also part of the founding sales team at dynaTrace. Dave earned a Bachelor of Arts from Connecticut College.
VP of Customer Success
Dan brings over 20 years of proven success creating, leading and scaling organizations that drive customer satisfaction and success in the software industry. Most recently at Compuware as VP of North America APM Pre-Sales, he started and built the Systems Engineering, Support and Enablement team of dynaTrace contributing to sales growth and subsequent Compuware acquisition. Before dynaTrace, he built Network Intelligence’s global customer support, professional services and systems engineering groups to drive high customer satisfaction and repeat sales also cumulating acquisition by EMC.
Previously, Mr. Germain was Vice President of Customer Support Precise Software Solutions. As part of the founding management team, Mr. Germain built and ran the support team and systems engineering team through the high growth years, successful IPO and subsequent acquisition by Veritas Software. Mr. Germain also brings field experience from Open Data, Information Builders and NYNEX in a variety of technical roles.
